Never Too Late

You are welcome exactly as you are.

In my youth, I was eager to move forward with age-related milestones. Getting a driver's license, for example, or being taken seriously as an applicant for a job after college. Those concerns are in the rear view mirror for us, so to speak.

We return to Abraham and Sarah this Sunday, where we hear of them not being too young for something, but being too old. Specifically, too long in the tooth to have a child. Contrary to expectations, Sarah was not too old.

What else might we open ourselves up for when we think it is too late? Growth, productivity, or some kind of new life may be possible for us even at an advanced age. Let's ponder the ways where "too late" may not be as sure as we sometimes think.
