Want to know more about the Book of Revelation?

Why did John of Patmos write it? What do the visions mean? How do the visions he had in the first century bring meaning for how we live in the 21st century? And, just what is THE Revelation that the Book of Revelation reveals? In the Tuesday morning Bible Study in March, Brian will introduce the Book of Revelation and its primary themes. He has written two books on the Book of Revelation, taught courses on it at two seminaries, and lectured widely about it. He is looking forward to sharing his thoughts about the Book with Community Church.
The studies will be held at the church on Tuesday, 10:30 – 11:30 AM, March 24, 31.
So that we may better plan, please RSVP to Rev Brian Blount
Community Church will observe Maundy Thursday with a special worship service on April 2 at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
This meaningful service will be divided into two parts:
The first part will center on the Lord’s Supper, remembering Jesus’ final meal with His disciples and the washing of their feet. The focus scripture for this portion is John 13:1–18, 31–35.
The second part of the service will be a Tenebrae service, a solemn time of worship that commemorates the Passion and death of Jesus. As candles are gradually extinguished and hymns are sung, we will reflect on the story of Jesus’ final moments as recorded in the Gospel of Mark.
Maundy Thursday Service
We invite you to join us for this time of reflection, remembrance, and worship.

Rev. Blount will speak on the theme of bearing witness, reflecting on how African American music has helped sustain hope and resist oppression. As he shared in a recent interview, this music proclaims a powerful truth:
we are all equal in God’s sight—and therefore equal to one another. We are also delighted to welcome saxophonist Sophia Smith, joining Israel Chavez, Sergio Carillo, and me as part of the Church of Swing Band. And we may even have a guest rapper!
